This trip to Abu Dhabi and Dubai were fantastic.  I spoke a lot, which was fun, met a ton of people, and then had time to shop for a luxurious carpet for the living room.  I dont' have a picture of it, but I really love it.  There was a shopping festival going on and I was able to work a bargain at one of the carpet markets.

Here's a picture of me, Marko (from Paris also), and our hosts, who are actually Lebanese:

I actually had time for some friends, which was nice.  We recently had a Brazilian party out at a friends house in the country.  It's a small town west of Paris called Montfort L'Amoury.  Beautiful little town.  Here are some highlights:

I've gotta get my friend Wally's picture here.  He's from Dallas, and has the funniest accent in French.  It's a strong southern drawl, french style.  My french friends swear they can't tell the difference between his American accent and mine (in French), but I can. It's hilarious.  I'll see if he'll let me record it and put it here.

More on the car.  Just finished all the paperwork to order it.  I'll find out the exact delivery date in a week or so.  They tell me tentatively sometime in late June.  Can't wait.  Now I have to get insurance and a place to park it.  In french they call it a 'box'.  This is not only a parking space but an enclosed and secure one.  I think I found one of those, near my house.  It was not easy to locate.

So here are the final pictures from the month, taken last night.  This is of my friend Mark Szelenyi.  He's visiting Paris on business and we had dinner last night.  Yes, ladies, he IS married.  We in fact went shopping a bit- he wanted to see the cool clothes in Paris.  He bought some really cool plates for his wife Janet.  What a nice guy.  After I took this photo, the lady threw us out of the store.  She said something about the artist's right to copyright, blah blah blah.  Sigh.  The French.
